Oluwatoyin Oshodi who arranged for fellow African nationals to travel illegally around Europe was jailed for 2 years on 18 May. The 33-year-old, who gave her name as Oluwatoyin Oshodi, pleaded guilty to 8 charges at Woolwich Crown Court, 7 of assisting unlawful immigration within the EU and 1 of possession of fraudulent identity documents.
Oshodi, whose identity is disputed, was arrested by UK Border Agency officers from the criminal and financial investigations team at her home address in Brownhill Road, London, on 29 February this year.
Officers had been led to the address after 2 Nigerian nationals, Richard Aboro, aged 35, and Sandra Njaka, aged 23 were arrested at Stansted airport on 4 February as they attempted to board a flight to Tours in France using fake British passports. Checks revealed that their tickets had been purchased by Oshodi.
Further checks revealed that she had made 5 other bookings for African nationals to travel out of Stansted to Valencia using fake travel documents.

‘Oshodi had not only booked tickets, in the case of Oboro and Njaka she had also provided a home for them while they were in the UK. She was involved at the most fundamental of levels in helping people travel illegally around Europe.
